American Marine Inc. is a company who has been manufacturing environmental products since 1967 for numerous industries. On January 1, 1997, Elastec Inc. and American Marine Inc. (AMI) were commercially joined when the Elastec board of directors purchased American Marine Inc. The joining of the companies brought together two separate manufacturing entities with unique capabilities that were linked to a common market focus. Elastec manufactures drum skimmers and related equipment used in oil spill response and industrial wastewater applications. AMI manufactures containment boom and related equipment used in oil spill response and floating baffles and turbidity curtains for wastewater and marine construction industry applications. Elastec/American Marine is the largest manufacturer of oil spill equipment in the United States.

Elastec/American Marine has a manufacturing plant comprised of three buildings on a four-acre site in the state of Illinois and a manufacturing plant in four buildings on three acres in Florida. The 20,000 square foot facility in Illinois is built for the construction of Elastec skimmer products and manned by skilled personnel trained in specific aspects of the manufacturing process. Other products manufactured in the Illinois facility include portable, general purpose and medical incinerators. The most recent development a the Illinois plant is the first skimmer made completely of corrosive resistant material for caustic industrial applications. The engineering expertise shown at the Illinois facility is evident in the many innovative solutions that have been found there for equipment used in oil recovery operations. Modern quality control methods are applied to every aspect of the manufacturing operations. Products are checked and tested in a rigorous program of quality control.
